Emmy-winning actress Drea de Matteo has highlighted the presence of "quiet" Donald Trump supporters in Hollywood who fear speaking out against the current administration.
Speaking on "Jesse Watters Primetime," de Matteo, famous for her role in HBO’s "The Sopranos," described herself as an "outcast" in Hollywood for expressing scepticism about President Biden.
Even though we were critically acclaimed [in 'The Sopranos'], we were the outcasts. I'm still an outcast. Here I am, they're going to take me into the woods and shoot me for not endorsing Biden," she remarked, referencing her character's fate on the show.
When asked about the presence of Trump supporters in Hollywood, de Matteo acknowledged, "I think there's a lot of them."
The actress expressed dismay over fellow Italians like Robert De Niro who have publicly criticized Trump, questioning their political stances.
De Matteo also questioned whether celebrities like De Niro were financially compensated for endorsing President Biden during his campaign events.
A vocal critic of cancel culture, de Matteo recently stated that her views on President Biden have shifted due to concerns over issues like border security.
In interviews, de Matteo has criticized the dominance of leftist ideologies in Hollywood, suggesting that many in the industry may secretly lean towards conservative viewpoints.
Regarding President Biden's leadership, de Matteo suggested he "needs to take a rest" and criticized the use of social issues and the president's image for political gain.
