The process for exchanging Rs 2,000 notes at banks begins today (May 23). The process will go on till September 30. However, Rs 2,000 notes will continue to be legal tender
The exchange of Rs 2,000 notes can be made up to a limit of Rs 20,000 at a time at any bank, as per the RBI. Up to this limit, there is no requirement for a requisition slip at any bank
HDFC Bank informed its customers that exchange of Rs 2,000 notes can be done at any branch from May 23 until September 30 with a per day limit of Rs. 20,000. SBI also assured its customers of hassle-free exchange while stating there was no requirement for requisition slip or ID proof like PAN or Aadhaar for exchanging Rs 2,000 notes up to Rs 20,000
