Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared their Civil Services Examination 2022 final results on May 23, and this year, women have emerged as toppers

This year, women candidates snatched the top 4 ranks; Ishita Kishore secured the first rank, Garima Lohia got the second rank, Uma Harathi N secured the third rank, and Smriti Mishra got the fourth rank in the prestigious exam

Ishita Kishore is an economics graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. After completing her studies, she joined Ernst & Young, where she contributed to their risk advisory department

Garima Lohia graduated in Commerce from Kirorimal College, University of Delhi. Lohia was able to secure the second position with Commerce and Accountancy as her optional subject

Uma Harathi N is a B.Tech. Graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT, Hyderabad. She managed to get the third rank in the Civil Services Examination 2022 with anthropology as her optional subject

Smriti Mishra holds a bachelor's degree in Science from Miranda House College, University of Delhi. Mishra secured the fourth position in the exam with zoology as her optional subject

This is the second year in a row that female candidates secured the top three positions in one of India’s most prestigious examinations conducted by UPSC

A total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment to these services. From these candidates, 345 belong to the general category, 99 are from EWS, 263 are OBC, 154 are SC & 72 are ST candidates, who were shortlisted after three stages of the selection process, said the commission
