The Asia Cricket Council announced the schedule for the upcoming edition of the biennial tournament. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will jointly host the tournament.

The latest edition of the tournament will start from August 31 with the final match to be played on September 17. A total of 13 ODI matches will be played as part of the tournament.

The tournament will be conducted in a hybrid model with four matches being held in Pakistan. Rest of the nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka.

Six countries will be participating in the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.

The teams will be divided into two groups of three teams each. Top two teams of each group will qualify for the Super Four Stage. The top two teams of the Super Four stage will face each other in the final.

This will be the second consecutive year for the tournament as the Asia Cup 2021 edition was postponed to 2022 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the 2022 edition of the tournament was conducted in T20 format.

Sri Lanka won the last year’s edition of Asia Cup by beating Pakistan in the final. Sri Lanka won by 23 runs as they successfully defended a target of 171 runs.
