CSK skipper MS Dhoni, aka Thala, who might have played the last IPL match of his career unfortunately got dismissed in the very first ball. Dhoni walked out to bat after the dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane in the 13th over of the game amid loud cheers from the crowd. Mohit Sharma bowled a full toss to Dhoni but the CSK captain ended up hitting the ball straight into the hands of David Miller
The IPL 2023 final was scheduled to take place on May 29 but due to incessant rains, the match got postponed to May 30. The rains continued to play spoilsport raising chances of a win for Gujarat Titans, the leader of IPL 2023 Points Table. GT managed to play their complete innings but CSK, whose innings were cut-short due to rains, were finally declared the winners as per the DLS system
