India is all set to host the ICC Men’s World Cup later this year. This is the first time that India would host the tournament by itself after hosting it with other Asian countries previously.
The much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The match will start at 02:00 pm. The tickets for the same are expected to be out soon.
The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has announced the ticket prices for the matches to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. As per the rule, the state sports associations send the tentative prices for the World Cup tickets to BCCI for approval before declaring them on the official site. Rest of the cricket state associations are yet to announce the ticket prices for the upcoming Men’s ODI World Cup.
President of CAB, Snehashish Ganguly announced the ticket prices for the matches at historic Eden Gardens stadium on Monday. The prices start from as low as Rs 650 and go all the way to Rs 3,000.
For the group stage match of Bangladesh and Netherlands at Eden Gardens, the ticket prices are: All Upper tiers – Rs 650 For D and H Blocks – Rs 1,000 For Blocks B, K and L – Rs 1,500
For matches of Pakistan against England and Bangladesh, the ticket prices are: All Upper tiers – Rs 800 For D and H Blocks – Rs 1,200 For C and K blocks – Rs 2,000 For Blocks B and L – Rs 2.200
For the group stage match of India against South Africa and the Semi-Final of the tournament, the ticket prices have been set at: All Upper tiers – Rs 900 For D and H Blocks – Rs 1,500 For C and K blocks – Rs 2,500 For Blocks B and L – Rs 3.000
For the upcoming ICC Men’s World Cup, the BCCI’s Selectors Committee might choose the following 20-men squad: Batters: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav Wicket-keepers: Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, Kl Rahul, Sanju Samson All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar Bowlers: Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik
The ticket prices announced by CAB for Eden Gardens are much lower than what the fans paid in England for the 2019 tournament. The prices in England started at Rs 1,800 for the group stages, while for the big matches people paid at least Rs, 5,000 and sometimes crossing the Rs 10,000 mark also.
The last time India hosted the tournament, they went on to win the final against Sri Lanka after defeating Pakistan in the semi-final. The ticket prices for the final game at Wankhede Stadium went up to Rs 1.25 lakh while the actual price was capped at Rs 37,500.
