India is set to host this year’s ICC Men’s ODI World Cup next month. But before the tournament begins with the first match on October 5, each of the ten teams will play two warm-up matches.
Team India will play two warm-up matches against England and Netherlands on September 30 and October 3. The team will start its World Cup campaign on October 8 against Australia.
The host India has decided to host all the warm-up matches at three venues – Hyderabad, Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati. Though, only Pakistan’s warm-up matches will be played in Hyderabad.

For India, the key players will be Virat Kohli and spinner Kuldeep Yadav. While for England, the key players will be captain Jos Buttler and bowler Chris Woakes.
India will play its first warm-up match at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. The match is expected to be affected by rain as the weather forecast suggests thunderstorms throughout the day for the city. The temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees in the day and around 25 degrees at night.
The Barsapara Stadium has hosted only three One Day International matches till now. The ground has a good-scoring pitch as the average total for first innings is 248 and for the second innings, the average is just 227 runs. The highest ODI total at the ground is 373-7, which was scored by India against Sri Lanka.
India and England have faced each other in 106 ODI matches, out of which 57 were won by the ‘Men in Blue’. England has won 44 matches while 3 matches have ended without a result.
The ICC World Cup 2023 warm-up match between India and England will start at 2 pm IST on Saturday. The match will be live streamed on Disney+ Hotstar app and website. The matches will also be telecast live on the Star Sports channels.
