Team India is set to play a three-match ODI series against Australia starting today. India lost two of the three ODI matches against Australia earlier this year in March. The ODI series will be vital as both teams will try to gain momentum before this year’s ICC Men’s World Cup, which starts on October 5 in India, where the host country will begin its CWC campaign against Australia on October 8.
The BCCI has selected two different squads for the series. For the first two matches, KL Rahul will be the captain as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya have been given rest. The three players will make a comeback in the third and last ODI.

The first Ind vs Aus ODI match will be played at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The temperature is expected to hover around 30 degrees throughout the match. The skies are expected to stay clear giving perfect match conditions. The match will begin at 1:30 pm IST on Friday.
The pitch at the PCA Stadium pitch in Mohali is expected to favour the batters in this clash. In the last five ODI matches, the average first innings total has been around 250 runs while four out five times the chasing team has won the match. The team winning the toss may choose to bowl first.
