Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India defeated Chamari Athapaththu–led Sri Lankan team by 19 runs to win their first-ever gold medal at Asian Games 2023 for the Women Cricket tournament
India scored 116/7 while Sri Lanka scored 97/8. This is the first time that the Indian women's cricket team played at the Asian Games. Smriti Mandhana fell short of 4 runs from a half-century as she scored 46 while Jemimah Rodrigues scored 42. 18-year-old Titas Sadhu, who made her debut for the Indian Team in the final of the Asian Games 2023 against Sri Lanka, took three wickets and conceded only six runs during the four overs she bowled.
