The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on December 11 unveiled the roster for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction
The IPL 2024 auction will take place in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena on December 19, 2023. A total of 333 players will be auctioned for the upcoming IPL tournament in 2024 and only 3 Indians - Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav, are in the Rs 2 crore bracket
Out of the 333 players listed for the mini-auction, 214 are Indians while 119 are overseas players and the remaining two are from associate countries. 116 players are capped and 215 players are uncapped
70 slots are available combining the 10 franchises of the IPL, of which 30 are for overseas players. Two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders will have the most slots to fill (12), while it will be 2022 winner Gujarat Titans who will enter the auction with the biggest purse (Rs 38.15 crore)
The highest reserve price at the auction is Rs 2 crore. 23 players have opted to be a part of the upper bracket, while 13 players have a base price of Rs 1.5 crore
