Messi is expected to play his first match for Inter Miami against the Mexican team Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup. Due to the GOAT’s debut in the US, ticket prices for the match have skyrocketed.

Fans are ready to pay as much as $1,10,000 (approx. Rs 90 lakh) for each ticket to watch the debut of the former PSG player. According to the tickets reselling website ‘Vivid Seats’, the ticket prices for Inter Miami’s match against Cruz Azul are averaging at $487, but it goes as high as $1,10,000. This is a new record in terms of Major League Soccer (MLS) ticket prices.

Messi has signed a two year deal with the Miami-based club, which is partly owned by former Manchester United star David Beckham. Messi will reportedly earn $50 to $60 million a year along with a part of the revenue that Apple makes from new subscribers of its Apple TV’s MLS Season Pass.

Ticket prices for Messi’s MLS debut on August 20 have also surged 900% since the beginning of June when there were rumours of Messi coming to the US. Inter Miami will start their new MLS season at home against Charlotte.
