On the fourth day of Asian Games in Hangzhou, India has clinched seven medals in the shooting events and one in skeet including two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
Indian shooter Sift Samra won the gold medal in the 50M Rifle 3P Shooting event while her teammate Ashi Chouksey won the bronze medal.
Sift Samra won the individual event with style as she created a new world record with her final score of 469.6 points. Samra also created an Asian record and Asian Games record in the qualification round for the individual event with a score of 594 points.
Sift Samra and Ashi Chowksey also led their team to a silver medal in the 50M Rifle 3P Team event. Manini Kaushik was the third shooter in the team.
Ashi Chowksey’s bronze in the individual event has increased her individual medal tally to three at this year’s Asian Games. Chowksey has won silver in the 50M Rifle 3P Team event, a silver medal in the 10M Air Rifle Team and now a bronze in the 50M Rilfe 3P individual event.
The team of Indian shooters Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won the 25m pistol team event. The team scored a combined total of 1759 points, just three points more than the Chinese team to clinch the gold. Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh also qualified for the final round of 25M pistol individual event.
Esha Singh went on to win the silver medal in the individual 25m pistol event while Manu Bhaker was eliminated at 5th position. India has now won eleven medals in shooting events.
The Men’s Skeet Team of India has won another medal for the country in the shooting category. The trio of Anand Vir Singh Bajwa, Gurjoat Singh Khangura and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka scored a total of 355 points to clinch the medal for the country.
Indian Shooter Anant Jeet Singh Naruka has won the silver medal in the individual Skeet shooting event. He qualified for the final round of the individual by scoring 121 points to finish fourth in the qualification round.
India’s sixth medal for the day came from Sailing as Vishnu Sarvanan won the Bronze medal in the Men’s Dinghy ILCA7 event with a net score of 34 just one point more than the silver medalist Ha Jeemin.
With eight medals on the Day 4 India’s total medal tally has gone up to 22 medals with five gold, six silver and ten bronze medals.
