Five teams will battle for T20I supremacy in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) - Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz.
The players' auction has been concluded and 87 players have been signed for WPL 2023, out of which 30 were overseas cricketers.
RCB signed Indian opener Smriti Mandhana for Rs 3.40 crore at the auction on Monday, making her the costliest player of the tournament.
The Women’s Premier League will have a total of 20 league matches and two playoff games that will be played over a duration of 23 days.
On March 5, there will be a double-header between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium and UP Warriorz vs Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium.
The first match of the double-header days will start at 3:30 pm, while all the evening matches will start at 7:30 pm in WPL 2023
The final match of the Women's Premier League 2023 will be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on March 26.
