The first ever Women IPL Auction is set to take place today (February 13) at Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai
The inaugural Women IPL Auction will begin at 2:30 pm today and will be live telecast on Sports 18 Network TV channels. The WPL Auction 2023 can also be live streamed on Jio Cinema app
There will be five franchises or teams (Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz) in Women IPL 2023 with a total of 409 players up for auction
246 Indian players will be up for auction for Women IPL 2023 while the total number of overseas players that will go under the hammer are 163 out of 1525 registrations that the BCCI had received
24 players, including 14 overseas and 10 Indian cricketers, have listed themselves at the highest base price of Rs 50 lakh. The other base price slabs are Rs 40 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 10 lakh
Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, Alyssa Healy, Deepti Sharma, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophie Devine, Deandra Dottin and Shafali Verma, the captain during India’s U-19 World Cup win, are all part of the Rs 50 lakh base price category
The bidders Adani Sportsline Pvt. Ltd (Ahmedabad), Indiawin Sports Pvt. Ltd (Mumbai), Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd (Bengaluru), JSW GMR Cricket Pvt. Ltd (Delhi) and Capri Global Holdings Pvt. Ltd (Lucknow) will get a total purse of Rs 12 crore for the auction
The Women's Premier League will be played from March 3 to 26 in Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium
