Benchmark indices on Wednesday settled in the green, led by gains in media, consumer durables and IT stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,618.70-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Adani Enterprises, Cipla, Reliance Industries, HCL Tech and Hero MotoCorp while losers included Divi's Labs, NTPC, BPCL, ONGC and PowerGrid.
Stocks such as Reliance, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Adani Enterprises and ICICI Bank were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, PowerGrid, ONGC, NTPC and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Cochin Shipyard emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock zoomed 20% on NSE today to settle at Rs 802.8. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 21,120.1 crore.
Network18 Media & Investments Ltd shares also soared 20% to close at Rs 119.4. The company's m-cap came at Rs 12,500.6 crore.
TV18 Broadcast Ltd surged 15.31% to close at Rs 64.4. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 11,040.5 crore.
Shares of Anupam Rasayan India fell sharply today. The stock dived 5.84% to close at Rs 958.9 on Wednesday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 10,501.4 crore.
Trident Ltd shares slipped 5.64% to end the session at Rs 46.85. The company's m-cap came at Rs 23,874.6 crore today.
