Benchmark indices on Friday extended their upward move for the second straight session, led by gains in IT and automobile stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,710.80-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Adani Ports, L&T, TCS, SBI Life and LTIMindtree while losers included Britannia, Nestle India, JSW Steel, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Divi's Labs.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Bank, Infosys and Adani Ports were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, NTPC, ONGC and PowerGrid were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Alok Industries emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock zoomed 18.97% on NSE today to settle at Rs 32.3. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 16,037.7 crore.
Endurance Technologies shares also soared 9.53% to close at Rs 2,116.45. The company's m-cap came at Rs 29,770.6 crore.
Shares of DCM Shriram Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 5.59% to close at Rs 1,077.7 on Friday. At this, the company's market cap stood at Rs 16,805.9 crore.
Gujarat Fluorochemicals shares slipped 5.2% to end the session at Rs 3,625.6. The company's m-cap came at Rs 39,827.2 crore today.
