There will be no action on Indian stock exchanges on Friday, April 14, 2023, on account of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti holiday
Both the leading stock exchanges, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will remain shut, according to the holiday calendar available on the BSE and NSE
The Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment, and SLB Segment as well as the Currency Derivatives Segment and Interest Rate Derivatives segments will also remain shut on this day, as per the BSE
For India's first listed exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), it will a trade settlement holiday. Trading will happen only in the evening session on April 14
Stock markets remain closed on April 4 and April 7 as well on account of Mahavir Jayanti and Good Friday respectively. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Jayanti holiday is the last one in this month
Next month, the equity market will remain closed on May 1, Monday on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. The next holiday will be on June 28, 2023, on the occasion of Bakri Eid. After that, market will remain closed on Independence Day, August 15, 2023 (Tuesday)
BSE has listed 15 holidays for equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments during the calendar year 2023. While there is only one stock market holiday in September on the 19th on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, markets will remain closed twice in October on account of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra
In November, exchanges will see no activity on the 14th and 27th on account of Diwali-Balipratipada and Guru Nanak Jayanti respectively. In December, bourses will remain closed on December 25 for Christmas
