Benchmark indices (BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty) slipped on Monday, dragged by IT, metal, healthcare and consumer durables. Headline index NSE Nifty fell 91 points or 0.41% to close at 22,122.05-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Asian Paints, Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco, Divi's Labs and Tech Mahindra while gainers included L&T, PowerGrid, Adani Enterprises, Tata Consumer Products and SBI Life.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, L&T, Reliance Industries, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Asian Paints were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. PowerGrid, Tata Steel, BPCL and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Rain Industries emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 7.83% on NSE today to settle at Rs 190.15. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 6,395.6 crore.
Alkem Laboratories Ltd shares slumped 6.63% to close at Rs 5,061.85. The company's m-cap came at Rs 60,522 crore.
The New India Assurance Company Ltd (NIACL) shares tanked 5.04% to close at Rs 265.65. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 43,779.1 crore. Gujarat Pipavav Port, GIC-Re, Vodafone Idea and Usha Martin were some of the other losers.
Shares of Data Patterns (India) Ltd rose sharply today. The stock surged 8.9% to close at Rs 2,572.3 on Monday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 14,400.8 crore.
Adani Energy Solutions Ltd shares jumped 8.72% to end the session at Rs 1,176.15. The company's m-cap came at Rs 1,31,198.7 crore today. Sobha, PB Fintech, 360 One Wam and Infibeam Avenues were among some other gainers.
