Benchmark indices on Wednesday settled with sharp cuts as IT and metal stocks dragged. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,517.35-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Bajaj Auto, Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Cipla and ITC while losers included Hindalco, JSW Steel, Tata Steel, LTIMindtree and Tech Mahindra.
Stocks such as Adani Ports, Adani Enterprises, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Reliance Industries were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel and ITC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock zoomed 14.44% on NSE today to settle at Rs 387.25. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 12,567.1 crore.
Adani Energy Solutions shares also soared 11.37% to close at Rs 1,183.2. The company's m-cap came at Rs 1,31,985.1 crore.
Shares of National Aluminium Company Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 6.62% to close at Rs 129.85 on Wednesday. At this, the company's market cap stood at Rs 23,848.7 crore.
NLC India Ltd shares slipped 4.44% to end the session at Rs 229.2. The company's m-cap came at Rs 31,781.7 crore today.
