Benchmark indices (BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty) slipped on Tuesday as consumer, IT and financial shares dragged. Headline index Nifty shed 49 points or 0.22% to close at 22,356.30-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Nestle India, Infosys and TCS while gainers included Tata Motors, Airtel, Bajaj Auto, SBI and ONGC.
Stocks such as Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, SBI, Bajaj Finance and Reliance Industries were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, ONGC and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of IIFL Finance emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock today cracked 20% on NSE to settle at Rs 477.75. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 18,225.4 crore.
Data Patterns (India) Ltd shares slumped 7.75% to close at Rs 2,669.9. The company's m-cap came at Rs 14,947.2 crore.
RBL Bank Ltd shares tanked 6.45% to close at Rs 255.85. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 15,474.1 crore. Allcargo Logistics, Suven Pharmaceuticals, Aavas Financiers, Network18 Media & Investments and Suzlon Energy were some of the other losers.
Shares of Capri Global Capital Ltd rose sharply today. The stock surged 20% to close at Rs 289.25 on Tuesday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 5,965.4 crore.
Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) shares jumped 9.66% to end the session at Rs 69.25. The company's m-cap came at Rs 1,30,899.2 crore today. Balaji Amines, Westlife Foodworld, UCO Bank, Central Bank of India and Solar Industries India were among some other gainers.
