Benchmark indices rose sharply on Thursday, pausing their two-day losing run. Headline index NSE Nifty settled above 19,100 level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Britannia, Hindalco, IndusInd Bank, Apollo Hospitals and Eicher Motors while losers included Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Life, ONGC and Adani Enterprises.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Tata Steel and IndusInd Bank were most active on NSE, in terms of value. PowerGrid, ONGC and SBI were the other buzzing stock on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Triveni Turbine emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock jumped 9.15% on NSE today to settle at Rs 391.7.
Delta Corp shares surged 7.63% to close at Rs 134.7. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 3,606.9 crore.
Shares of Hitachi Energy India gained 7.63% to end at Rs 4,471.25 today. The company's market cap came at Rs 18,949.9 crore.
Shares of Vodafone Idea climbed 7.42% today to settle at Rs 13.75. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 66,934.6 crore.
Shares of Syrma SGS Technology fell sharply today. The stock dived 12.24% to close at Rs 524.5 on Thursday.
Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation's shares slumped 6.95% to end the session at Rs 594.75. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 7,508 crore today.
Shares of Safari Industries (India) were also among top losers in the NSE 500 pack today. Safari Ind's stock fell 4.3% to settle at Rs 4,049.9. The company's market cap was at Rs 9,631.5 crore.
