Benchmark indices rebounded on Friday, halting their six-day losing run with NSE Nifty ending near 19,050 level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Coal India, HCL Technologies, Axis Bank, SBI and Bajaj Auto while losers included UPL, ITC, Hindalco, BPCL and Asian Paints.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki India and ICICI Bank were most active on NSE, in terms of value. Tata Steel, ITC and NTPC were the other buzzing stock on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Jubilant Pharmova emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index on Friday. The stock jumped 16.94% on NSE today to settle at Rs 397.25.
Swan Energy shares surged 12.2% to to close at Rs 369.2. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 9,743.8 crore.
Shares of Welspun India gained 10.55% to finish at Rs 145.7 today. The company's m-cap came at Rs 14,159.3 crore.
Shares of Safari Industries (India) moved 9.62% higher to settle at Rs 4,264.95. The company's market valuation stood at Rs 10,143 crore. Also, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, Adani Power and Shriram Finance were some other top Nifty500 gainers today.
Shares of Sterlite Technologies fell sharply today. The stock cracked 9.25% to settle at Rs 135.9. At this price, the company commanded a market cap of Rs 5,422.5 crore.
Westlife Foodworld shares dived 7.09% on Friday to close at Rs 820.25. The company's m-cap came at Rs 12,790.7 crore.
Shares of MMTC were also among top laggards in the NSE 500 pack today. MMTC tanked 4.86% today to settle at Rs 51.9. Prestige Estates Projects closed with 4.62% losses at Rs 748.1.
