Benchmark indices on Monday continued their upward run for the fifth straight session, led by gains in consumer and pharma stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty finally closed at 22,122.25-level after hitting an all-time high of 22,186.65. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Grasim Industries, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Auto, Cipla and Bharti Airtel while losers included Coal India, L&T, SBI Life, Wipro and HDFC Life.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, SBI, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank and Coal India were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, ITC and ONGC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
In the NSE 500 index, shares of Mangalore Refinery And Petrochemicals Ltd emerged as the top gainer. The stock zoomed 18.69% on NSE today to settle at Rs 286.1. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 50,141.9 crore.
JBM Auto Ltd shares soared 17.7% to close at Rs 2,381.75. The company's m-cap came at Rs 28,163.5 crore.
Rajesh Exports Ltd shares surged 13.28% to close at Rs 344.25. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 10,164.3 crore. Crisil, Archean Chemical Industries, Rain Industries and Quess Corp were some of the other gainers.
Shares of Home First Finance Company India Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 5.97% to close at Rs 882.9 on Monday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 7,813.2 crore.
YES Bank Ltd shares slipped 4.58% to end the session at Rs 27.1. The company's m-cap came at Rs 77,956.1 crore today. Motilal Oswal Financial Services, Coal India, Five-Star Business Finance and Concord Biotech were among some other laggards.
