Benchmark indices (BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty) slipped on Tuesday, dragged by technology and financial stocks. Headline index Nifty shed 9 points or 0.04% to close at 22,453-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HCLTechnologies, ICICI Bank and SBI Life while gainers included Tata Consumer Products, M&M, BPCL, Bajaj Auto and Adani Ports.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, L&T and Reliance Industries were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, SBI and ONGC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Anand Rathi Wealth Ltd emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 4.74% on NSE today to settle at Rs 3,448.85. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 14,426 crore.
Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd shares slumped 4.29% to close at Rs 1,312.95. The company's m-cap came at Rs 9,970.8 crore.
Jai Balaji Industries Ltd shares tanked 3.99% to close at Rs 909.35. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 14,881.5 crore. Vodafone Idea, PNB Housing Finance, IndiaMART InterMESH and Indus Towers were some of the other losers on NSE 500.
Shares of Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd rose sharply today. The stock surged 11.58% to close at Rs 236.15 on Tuesday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 23,969.5 crore.
Tanla Platforms Ltd shares jumped 10.91% to end the session at Rs 933.8. The company's m-cap came at Rs 12,555.9 crore today. Aditya Birla Capital, Varroc Engineering, Godfrey Phillips India and NCC were among some other gainers on NSE.
