Benchmark indices ended flat on September 25 (Monday) with NSE Nifty ending almost unchanged at 19,675 level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Hindalco, SBI Life Insurance, Hero MotoCorp, Infosys and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), while gainers included Bajaj Finance, Tata Consumer Products, Bajaj Finserv, Apollo Hospitals and Coal India Ltd (CIL).
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Maruti Suzuki India and ICICI Bank were most active on NSE, in terms of value. Tata Steel, PowerGrid, State Bank of India (SBI) and CIL were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Delta Corp emerged as the top laggard in the NSE 500 index. The stock dived 20% on NSE today to hit an intraday low of Rs 140.35. The stock eventually settled 16.96% lower at Rs 145.65. The gaming and casino firm's stock cracked after it received tax notices worth Rs 16,822 crore from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence.
Berger Paints shares declined 8.71% to hit an intraday low of Rs 611 against their previous close of Rs 669.30. Around 48.32 lakh shares of the company changed hands in a transaction worth Rs 301.68 crore. The number of shares exchanged amounts to 0.03% of the total equity. The scrip, which turned ex-bonus on September 22, closed 8.5% lower at Rs 612.40 today.
Shares of Brightcom Group slipped 5% to close at Rs 18.25 today. The company's market capitalisation (m-cap) came at Rs 3,682.71 crore. The company, which is under market regulator Sebi's scanner over certain lapses, has recently appointed Radhakishore Pandrangi as an independent director for a five-year term.
Shares of Kalyan Jewellers India fell 5.98% to hit a day low of Rs 202.80. The stock settled with 4.54% losses at Rs 205.90. On the other hand, KSB Ltd moved 5.47% lower to hit a low of Rs 2,911.50. The counter closed with 4.93% losses at Rs 2,928.
Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd rose sharply today. The stock jumped 11.04% to hit an intraday high of Rs 87 against its previous close of Rs 78.35. It eventually settled with 8.62% gains at Rs 85.10.
IRB Infrastructure Developers shares surged 11.07% on Monday to hit Rs 33.10. Around 9.11 crore shares of the company changed hands in a transaction worth Rs 289.82 crore. The number of shares exchanged amounts to 0.11% of the total equity. The scrip closed 8.05% lower at Rs 32.20.
Shares of Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), Balrampur Chini Mills, Tata Investment Corporation, ITI, Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals, Gujarat Ambuja Exports, Sobha, The Ramco Cements, Sundaram Finance, Dalmia Bharat and MMTC were also among top gainers in the NSE 500 pack today.
