Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty opened lower today amid weak global cues. The 30-share Sensex slipped 103 points, or 0.17 per cent, to 60,288. The NSE barometer Nifty fell 20.55 points, or 0.12 per cent, to 17,791.
Mediocre Q4 results and uninspiring commentary from TCS will keep the IT stocks soft, said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said. “Financials will continue to be resilient. Watch out for the pharma stocks which have emerged strong in recent days," he said.

The pharma stock rose up to 7.17% to Rs 1,408.1 against the previous close of Rs 1,313.90 on BSE. The stock opened higher at Rs 1,313.80. The market cap of the firm rose to Rs 2,650.49 crore.
