Sensex, Nifty trading higher

The domestic equity market was trading higher on Thursday. Sensex rose 336 points to 72,375 and Nifty gained 102 pts to 21,757.

Chasing the market at high valuations will be risky

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, "The rally looks set to continue supported by the leading banks, which are witnessing institutional accumulation. Strong cues from the mother market US, steadily declining US bond yields and the dollar index below 101 augur well for the continuation of the rally. Remaining invested is important in a bull market. But chasing the market at high valuations would be highly risky."

GE Power India

Shares of GE Power India Ltd rose 4% in early trade today after the firm said it won a Rs 10.47-crore order from NTPC Ltd. Bokaro Power Supply Company (BPSCL) has also awarded an order worth over Rs 9.91 crore to GE Power India for the supply of spares for turbine generator. GE Power India stock hit an intraday high of Rs 232.30, rising 3.82% against the previous close of Rs 223.75 on BSE.

South Indian Bank

Shares of South Indian Bank rose 3% today after the private sector lender said its board has cleared the fund raising of Rs 1,750 crore via issue of equity shares of the bank on a rights basis to its existing eligible shareholders. South Indian Bank stock hit an intraday high of Rs 27.45, rising 2.88% against the previous close of Rs 26.68 on BSE.Total 15.52 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 4.22 crore on BSE. Market cap of the bank stood at Rs 5679.70 crore on BSE.

Zomato

Shares of Zomato fell 5% to Rs 120.70 today after the firm said it has received a show cause notice under Section 74(1) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence, Pune Zonal unit. Earlier, the stock opened lower at Rs 120.70 on BSE. Total 41.18 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 50.88 crore on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 1.07 lakh crore on BSE.

Mufin Green

Shares of Mufin Green Finance Ltd rose 3.5 per cent to Rs 179.10 as the company board announced to issue convertible warrants to select investors. Market capitalization of the firm rose to Rs 2700 crore.

Azad Engineering

Shares of Azad Engineering Ltd made a strong debut at Dalal Street on Thursday as the manufacturer of aerospace components and turbines debuted at Rs 720, a premium of 37.40 per cent, at the National Stock Exchange (NSE), against the issue price of Rs 524 apiece. The scrip was listed at a premium of 35.50 per cent at Rs 710 on the BSE.

IRFC

Shares of IRFC were trading flat at Rs 97.45 in the afternoon session today. Earlier, the stock opened higher at Rs 97.71 on BSE. Total 76.21 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 74.24 crore on BSE. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 1.27 lakh crore on BSE.

BHEL

Shares of BHEL gained 5% to a 52 week high of Rs 192 on BSE. The bank saw 48.34 lakh shares changing hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 97.25 crore on BSE. Market cap of the bank rose to Rs 1.19 lakh crore.
