Sensex, Nifty trading higher

The domestic equity market was trading higher on Tuesday. Sensex rose 338 points to 71,411 and Nifty gained 77 pts to 21,693.

Mid, small caps in correction mode

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “An important ongoing trend in the market is the weakness in the broader market with sharp cuts in many mid and small caps. Many such stocks driven up by speculative buying without consideration for the fundamentals are correcting. This trend is likely to continue since many such stocks are excessively valued.”

IRFC

Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd (IRFC) clocked the highest turnover in early trade today. The railway stock tumbled 18.12% in the previous three sessions, sliding from Rs 162.45 to Rs 133  on BSE. IRFC stock climbed 12.40% to Rs 149.50 on Tuesday.

Tata Power

Shares of Tata Power saw a high turnover of Rs 78.98 crore on Tuesday. The stock was trdaing flat at Rs 362.40 against the previous close of Rs 361.75 on BSE. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 1.15 lakh crore.

SJVN

Shares of SJVN fell 10.53% to Rs 100 level on BSE today. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 42,127 crore. A total of 120.34 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 128.24 crore on BSE.

RVNL

Shares of RVNL zoomed 11.55% to Rs 256.35 on BSE. Market cap of RVNL climbed to Rs 51,781 crore. A total of 47.90 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 117.28 crore on BSE.

Paytm

Shares of Paytm slipped 8.71%% to a fresh 52 week low of Rs 385.75 on BSE. Paytm's market cap slipped to Rs 24,735 crore. A total of 9.84 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 38.78 crore on BSE.

YES Bank

Shares of YES Bank slipped 5.23% to Rs 26.80 on BSE today. Total 154.50 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 42.95 crore. Market cap of the lender fell to Rs 80,019 crore.
