The domestic equity market was trading higher on Friday. Sensex rose 612 points to 72,257 and Nifty gained 181 pts to 21,878.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “Global cues are better since the mother market US is appreciating the favourable trends in the US economy after the brief disappointment with the cautious Fed message. It is evident that the US is heading for a soft landing and rate cuts are coming. The near-term risk in the market is high valuation, which can trigger corrections on some negative news. Expect high volatility in the near term."
Shares of Suzlon Energy Ltd hit their 12-year high in early trade today. Suzlon Energy shares gained 4.5% to Rs 50.72, a 12.5-year high on BSE today. In the current session, Suzlon Energy stock opened higher at Rs 49.90. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 68,066 crore.
Shares of NBCC zoomed to their fresh 52-week high after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said two crore houses will be built up in the next five years. NBCC stock rose 18.23% to a high of Rs 167.95 against the previous close of Rs 142.05 on BSE.
Shares of One 97 Communications Ltd (Paytm) tumbled 20 per cent and slipped below the Rs 500-mark, following the RBI's directives on Paytm Payment Bank. The Paytm stock was locked at its 20 per cent lower circuit limit of Rs 487.05 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 30,931.59 .
Shares of SJVN zoomed to their fresh 52-week high amid a stellar rally in the equity market. SJVN stock rose 14.74% to a high of Rs 146.30 against the previous close of Rs 127.50 on BSE. Market cap of SJVN rose to Rs 56,628 crore. A total of 51.88 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 72.43 crore on BSE.
Shares of HUDCO zoomed to their fresh 52-week high after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said two crore houses will be built up in the next five years. HUDCO stock rose 9.98% to a high of Rs 226.95 against the previous close of Rs 206.35 on BSE.
Shares of PB Fintech fell 3.41% to Rs 962.80 after Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings on Thursday offloaded its entire 5.42 per cent stake in PB Fintech for Rs 2,425 crore through open market transactions. Total 49.49 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 487.38 crore. Market cap of the firm slipped to Rs 43,981 crore.
Shares of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) hit record high in early trade today. The stock touched a record high of Rs 195.05 on BSE. The stock was stuck in the upper circuit of 5%. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 52,424 crore. IREDA saw 33.31 lakh shares changing hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 64.06 crore on BSE.
