The domestic equity market was trading higher on Friday. Sensex rose 445 points to 71,632 and Nifty gained 129 pts to 21,591.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “An important trend in the market, which has implications for retail investors is the revival of the tug of war between FIIs and DIIs. FPIs have sold equity massively for Rs 20,480 crore during the last two days. This is partly in response to the rising bond yields in the US where the 10-year yield has risen to 4.16% and partly due to the high valuation in the Indian stock market. Since the largest chunk of FII AUM is in banks, they have been selling in banks, mainly HDFC Bank."
Shares of the retail footwear major fell over 4% to Rs 1,140.60 post Q3 earnings. Market cap of the firm declined to Rs 31,607 crore on BSE. Total 0.11 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 1.21 crore on BSE. The firm posted a 12.6 percent year-on-year fall in consolidated net profit at Rs 97.81 crore in Q3.
Shares of Polycab India were trading lower at Rs 4375 today against the previous close of Rs 4431 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 65,699 crore on BSE. Total 0.53 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 23.44 crore on BSE. Polycab reported a 15% rise in profit for the quarter ended December 2023.
Shares of RVNL zoomed 18.44% to a record high of Rs 288.65 today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 58,776 crore on BSE. Total 106.69 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 284.27 crore on BSE.
Shares of Dixon Technologies (India) slipped 4.5% to Rs 6018 as the company told stock exchanges that the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) conducted a search with respect to classification of the raw material imported for manufacturing of one of the products at the manufacturing facility of one of a subsidiary company at Noida on January 1. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 36,527 crore on BSE.
Shares of Varun Beverages saw high turnover today with 20.43 lakh shares of the firm changing hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 252.57 crore on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 1.60 lakh crore. Varun Beverages stock was trading flat at Rs 1237.85 on BSE.
Shares of Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd (IRFC) rose 9% to a record high of Rs 160 today against the previous close of Rs 146.27 on BSE. Shares of IRFC saw the highest turnover today with 231.38 lakh shares of the firm changing hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 357.09 crore on BSE.
Shares of HUDCO rallied over 14% to a 52 week high of Rs 157.40 on Friday. Market capitalisation of the firm rose to Rs 30,819 crore. Total 55.58 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 84.75 crore on BSE.
