The domestic equity market was trading lower on Monday. Sensex fell 305 points to 71,720 and Nifty lost 98 pts to 21,612.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, "The year-end rally which took the Nifty up by around 14 % from the 2023 October lows, is slowly running out of steam. The major challenge for the rally comes from the mother market US which is showing signs of weakness. Long-term investors can use dips in the market to buy high quality banking stocks which are fairly priced."
