Sensex hit a record high of 80,074 and Nifty scaled a record of 24,307 in early deals today. Market cap of BSE-listed firms climbed to Rs 444.58 lakh crore
"As the weightage of HDFC Bank in Nifty increases there will be more delivery based buying by ETFs and also active funds. There can be a marginal negative impact on other high weightage stocks in the Nifty like RIL, TCS, Infosys and ICICI Bank," said V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services.
Shares of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) surged 6.50 per cent to scale their record high of Rs 218.80. Turnover on the counter came at Rs 279.05 crore, commanding a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 57,934.77 crore.
Shares of private lender HDFC Bank hit their 52-week high level. The stock surged 3.55 per cent to hit a high of Rs 1,791.90. Turnover on the counter came at Rs 83.40 crore, commanding a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 13,60,446.39 crore.
Shares of Polycab India were trading higher in early deals today after brokerage Nuvama raised its price target to Rs 7,700 and retained its buy call on the cables and wires player. The fast moving electric goods (FMEG) stock gained 1.56% to Rs 6732 against the previous close of Rs 6628.50. The multibagger stock has gained 89.41% in one year and risen 206% in two years.
Shares of KEC International rose over 7% to a record high after the firm secured new orders of Rs 1,017 crore in Transmission & Distribution (T&D) and Renewables businesses. The business has won orders for EPC project and supply of towers in the Middle East. KEC International shares zoomed 7.25% to Rs 968.20 in early deals today. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 24,577 crore.
Shares of state-run Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) are in news today after the PSU said it won an order worth Rs 132 crore from the Central Railways. RVNL shares rose 2.4% to Rs 421 in early deals today against the previous close of Rs 411.10 on BSE.
Shares of Zen Technologies rose nearly 9% to a record high in noon session today. Zen Technologies shares zoomed 8.63% to Rs 1412.10 in early deals today. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 11,766 crore.
