The domestic equity market was trading higher in the afternoon session today. Sensex gained 159 points to 77,369 and Nifty rose 42 pts to 23,543.
“The consolidation phase in the market is likely to continue. The near-term strength in the market is likely to come from Bank Nifty assisted by institutional buying notably from FIIs who have turned buyers last week. However, SEBI investigation in the Quant Mutual Fund is a slight sentiment negative for the market,” said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services.
Shares of Route Mobile rose 14.27% to Rs 1747.45 on BSE. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 4.57 crore with 0.27 lakh shares changing hands in the afternoon session. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 10,611 crore. The firm said it has enabled WhatsApp-based ticketing for Nagpur, Pune, Hyderabad and Delhi Metro, becoming the largest enabler for such services in India. m
Shares of IREDA rose 5% to Rs 195.35 in the afternoon session. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 51,336 crore. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 123.47 crore with 64.10 lakh shares changing hands on BSE. The stock gained after the firm said it has raised Rs 1,500 crore via bonds.
Shares of Indian Hotels gained over 3% to a 52 week high of Rs 654 today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 92,580 crore. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 7 crore with 1.10 crore shares changing hands in the afternoon session.
Shares of Prestige Estates gained over 2% in early deals after the realty firm said its board on June 21 approved a proposal to raise Rs 5,000 crore through QIP (qualified institutional placement). The stock gained 2.51% to Rs 2040.85 against the previous close of Rs 1990.70 on BSE.
Shares of Cipla slipped over 3% today after the pharma firm said US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) inspected its manufacturing facility in Goa from June 10 to June 21 this year. The pharma firm has received six inspection observations documented in Form 483 from USFDA. Cipla shares fell 3.06% to Rs 1493.70 on BSE against the previous close of Rs 1540.95 .
Shares of CarTrade Tech slipped over 3% to Rs 827.75 as 71 lakh shares or 15.1 percent equity in changed hands in a block deal today. The deal was carried out at an average price of Rs 828 per share. The size of the deal was Rs 588.3 crore changed hands in a block deal on June 24, according to reports.
CG Power shares zoomed 8.13% to a recored high of Rs 735.50 in the afternoon session today. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 1.09 lakh crore. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 13.65 crore with 1.91 lakh shares changing hands in the afternoon session.
