The domestic equity market was trading higher in the afternoon session today. Sensex gained 1350 points to 76425 and Nifty gained 382 pts to 23,203.
“There is excessive speculative activity in stocks where the floating stock is very low. Retail investors venturing into these speculative activities is highly risky. Today’s monetary policy meet is not expected to impact the market since any rate action by the MPC is unlikely.”,” said VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services.
Shares of Dixon Technologies hit their record high on Friday after the firm said it inked a term sheet to form a joint venture (JV) with HKC Corporation. Dixon Technologies shares hit a record high of Rs 10,085 against the previous close of Rs 9762.35. The market cap of the consumer durables firm rose to Rs 59,993 crore
Shares of state-run Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd rose over 3% after the firm won a Rs 495 crore order from NTPC. The multibagger railway stock rose 3.57% to Rs 382 against the previous close of Rs 368.80 on BSE. It has climbed 196.81% in a year and gained 1067.49% in two years.
Shares of Vodafone Idea gained nearly 4% to Rs 15.63. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 1.03 lakh crore. The stock saw a high turnover of Rs 170.81 crore with 1104.99 lakh shares changing hands in the afternoon session.
Shares of Wipro surged 5.46 per cent to a high of Rs 486.15 after the IT firm said it has been awarded a $500-million deal by a leading US communication service provider over a period of five years. Market cap of Wipro rose to Rs 2.52 lakh crore.
Raymond stock hit a record high of Rs 2472.20. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 10.19 crore as 0.42 lakh shares changed hands on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 16,250 lakh crore. The stock rose over 7.63% on BSE.
Paytm shares were stuck in the upper circuit of 10% at Rs 381.20 today. The stock saw a turnover of Rs 14.18 crore with 3.81 lakh shares changing hands in the afternoon session. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 24,236 crore.
