Benchmarks indices rose in early deals on Thursday on positive global cues. Sensex climbed 150 points to 63,293 and Nifty gained 48 points to 18,774. Mid- and small-cap shares were positive as BSE Midcap index gained 38 points and the BSE small-cap index was up 119 points

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “Nifty has now moved up by 10% from the March lows and the present bullish market structure can take the Nifty to the all-time high of 18,887. Strength and optimism on the economic front in the mother market US provide the global backdrop for the bulls. Domestically, the important cue to watch would be the RBI commentary today since the rate decision will be a pause.”

Shares of NIIT traded adjusted of the demerged corporate learning business. The stock opened at Rs 98.70 level (adjusted of demerger) against Wednesday's closing price of Rs 405.90. The stock later jumped 3.75% to hit a high of Rs 102.40 as the session progressed

Shares of NTPC rose 3.58% to Rs 183.75 in early trade on BSE.  The stock was the top gainer on Sensex. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 3178 crore

Shares of Suzlon Energy snapped three-day gaining spree and fell 3.61% to Rs 13.87 today. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 16,843 crore

Adani Power shares rose 4% to Rs 286 today. The stock has been gaining for six sessions. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 1.08 lakh crore. Adani Power has gained post upward revision in its circuit limit by stock exchanges. The circuit limit has been revised to 20% from 5% earlier

Shares of Jindal Poly Films rose 10% to Rs 740 against the previous close of Rs 672.50 on BSE. It opened higher at Rs 700 on BSE. The stock was the top BSE gainer today. The company said it was buying a 100 percent stake in JPF Netherlands Investment BV, a Netherlands-based entity, which is engaged in the business of packaging films business through its three operational wholly-owned subsidiaries based out of France, Italy, and the United Kingdom

Shares of Hero MotoCorp extended their gain to hit Rs 3,000-mark after more than two years. Hero Motocorp climbed over 2% to Rs 3,025.50, its new 52-week high

Shares of Brightcom Group rose 5% in early trade today. Shares of Brightcom Group gained 5% to Rs 22.64 against the previous close of Rs 21.57 on BSE. It opened higher at Rs 22.64 on BSE

Shares of Tata Motors hit a fresh 52-week high in early trade. The stock rose to Rs 576.5 in early trade today. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 1.88 lakh crore. Nuvama Institutional Equities has upped its target on Tata Motors stock to Rs 645 from Rs 620 earlier
