Sensex, Nifty trading higher

The domestic equity market was trading higher on Friday. Sensex rose 661 points to 73,162 and Nifty gained 203 pts to 22,386. Market cap of BSE-listed firms climbed to Rs 390.67 lakh crore.

Large caps expected  to outperform the  broader market

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist, Geojit Financial Services said, “The impressive GDP numbers provide the fundamental support to the bull market. Large caps like RIL, Bharti Airtel, L&T and ICICI Bank have the potential to lead the rally. Tepid private consumption numbers will be a drag on consumer staples stocks like HUL. The broad trend of the market, going forward, will be the outperformance of large caps over the broader market."

Suven Pharma

Suven Pharma shares surged 13% to Rs 712 in early trade today after the company announced a proposed scheme of amalgamation for the merger of Cohance Lifesciences with Suven. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 17,671 crore. The stock was top gainer on BSE today.

CG Power

Shares of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd rose 11.38% to Rs 494.40 today after the Union Cabinet cleared setting up a chip plant in Sanad, Gujarat in collaboration with Renesas (Japan) and Stars Microelectronics, Thailand.  Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 72,508 crore.

L&T

Shares of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) rose nearly 3% in early trade after the infra major commissioned its first domestically produced hydrogen electrolyser at its green hydrogen plant in Hazira, Gujarat. L&T stock gained 2.68% to a fresh high of Rs 3575 against the previous close of Rs 3481 on BSE. Total 0.64 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 22.89 crore on BSE. Market cap of L&T rose to Rs 4.89 lakh crore.

Zomato

Shares of online food delivery firm Zomato Ltd hit a record high of Rs 173.45 on Friday. Total 20.81 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 35.23 crore on BSE. Market cap of Zomato rose to Rs 1.47 lakh crore.

Vodafone Idea

Shares of Vodafone Idea saw a high turnover of Rs 45.80 crore on BSE. Market cap of Vodafone Idea rose to Rs 67,032 crore. A total of 330.85 lakh shares of the firm changed hands at 10: 40 AM on BSE.

NHPC

Shares of NHPC gained 4% to Rs 91.68 today. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 91,038 crore. Total 44.60 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 40.37 crore.

Indian Hotels

Shares of Indian Hotels saw a high turnover of Rs 214.21 crore on BSE. Market cap of Indian Hotels rose to Rs 83,662 crore. A total of 36.46 lakh shares of the firm changed hands at 10:42 AM on BSE.
