Indian equity benchmarks fell in early deals on Thursday ahead of monthly futures and options (F&O) expiry. Sensex slipped 151 points or 0.24% to trade at 61,624, while the broader NSE Nifty moved 28 points or 0.15% down to trade at 18,258

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “A significant trend in the market now is India’s outperformance compared to most developed and emerging markets. The important factor driving India’s outperformance is the sustained FPI inflows which has touched Rs 28,169 crores in May till 24th. (Source: NSDL) FPIs have been buyers in India in nineteen out of the last twenty trading sessions. This trend is likely to continue since India’s growth and earnings prospects are much superior to those of other economies.”

India has outperformed global markets

Shares of Trident Ltd fell 9% after the company reported a 27.91% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 130.66 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2023 against Rs 181.25 crore in the January-March period a year ago. The stock slipped 8.84% to Rs 31.65 today against the previous close of Rs 34.72 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 16,684 crore

Trident 

Shares of NCC were the top gainers on BSE today. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 7166 crore. NCC stock opened at Rs 109.40 and hit an intraday high of Rs 114.85 on BSE

Shares of Adani Enterprises fell 2.9% to Rs 2405 on BSE. Market cap of the firm declined to Rs  2.75 lakh crore. Adani Enterprises stock opened at Rs 2,437 on BSE. Shares of Adani Enterprises have been put under the short-term ASM framework from Thursday by BSE and NSE

Brigade Enterprises shares fell over 1.5% to Rs 528.45 on BSE today. Brigade Enterprises posted net profit of Rs 69 crore in the three months ended March period. Revenue from operations during the quarter came in at Rs 842 crore

Shares of Tata Motors fell to Rs 511 on BSE against the previous close of Rs 520Foreign brokerage UBS has resumed its coverage on Tata Motors shares with an anti-consensus view. The brokerage has suggested 'Sell' on the stock with a target of Rs 320, saying the JLR-owner's negatives are overlooked and that positives are largely priced in. The stock was the top Sensex loser today

Shares of Bharti Airtel rose 2.22% to Rs 818.75 in early trade. It opened at Rs 801 on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 4.56 lakh crore. The stock was the top Sensex gainer today

Adani Transmission shares slipped 4% to Rs 873.55 against the previous close of Rs 909.90 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 98,352 crore
