Indian equity benchmarks were trading higher today. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 359 points to 65,872 and Nifty gained 102 pts to 19,615.       

Indices trading higher on October 10 

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “The uncertainty associated with the Israel- Hamas war continues. It can take a turn for the worse if Israel starts ground operations in Gaza. The possibility of easing of tensions also cannot be ruled out since Hamas will bargain with the captured Israeli hostages. Unlike economic and market trends, geopolitical developments cannot be predicted. This uncertainty will weigh on markets." 

Israel-Hamas conflict will weigh on market 

Mazagon Dock shares rose 7.03% to Rs 2219.55 on BSE after the shipping company inked a Letter of Intent (LOI) with an European Client for construction of 06 firm and 04 optional units of 7500 DWT multi-purpose hybrid power vessels. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 43,848 crore. 

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders 

Shares of Inox Green Energy Services Ltd (IGESL) rose 6% in early trade after the firm on October 9 said it has inked a term sheet for divestment of 100% stake in Nani Virani Wind Energy Private Limited SPV. Inox Green Energy shares rose 6.08% to Rs 68.72 against the previous close of Rs 64.78 on BSE.

Shares of ITI Ltd gained 8% to their 52 week high of Rs 234.70 in early trade. The telecom equipment stock was among the top gainers on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 22,081 crore. Total 7.51 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 17.15 crore.

Shares of GMDC Ltd gained 12% to their 52 week high of Rs 357.85 in early trade on BSE. The industrial minerals firm was the top gainer on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 11,368 crore. Total 6.26 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 21.43 crore on BSE. 

GMDC Ltd 

Shares of Tata Motors gained 2% to Rs 632.50 in early trade on BSE. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 2.08 lakh crore. Total 4.61 lakh shares changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 28.99 crore on BSE. 

Tata Motors 

Shares of the private sector bank were trading flat in early deals after it inked an agreement with the National Securities Depository Ltd (NSDL) for sale of its office premises located in Naman Chambers, Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai for Rs 198 crore. However, turnover rose with 164 lakh shares changing hands amounting to the highest turnover of Rs 147.85 crore on BSE. IDFC First Bank shares were trading at Rs 90.03 on BSE. Market cap of the bank stood at Rs 63,514 crore.
