Indian equity benchmarks were trading higher today. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 253 points to 65,479 and Nifty gained 62 pts to 19,498.

VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, “Sustained FII selling has impacted banking stocks in spite of their sound fundamentals. Q2 results of banks will be good and their valuations are attractive. This presents a good buying opportunity now. Capital goods stocks will continue to do well. Q2 results of autos, too, will be good, gaining from soft commodity prices. The market will start discounting this in advance.”       

Valuations of banking stocks are attractive 

Shares of the gaming firm rose 6.76% to Rs 879.15 today after the Singapore subsidiary of NODWIN Gaming bought a 100% stake in game marketing agency PublishME for a sum of $2 million from its existing shareholders Nazara Technologies and Ozgur Ozalp. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 5743.91 crore.

Marico shares slipped 4.29% to Rs 546.05 today after the FMCG firm said domestic volumes rose in low-single digits on a year-on-year basis. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 70,559 crore. Total 0.39 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 2.13 crore on BSE. 

Marico 

Navin Fluorine International stock fell 4.54% to Rs 3650.50 on BSE. Navin Fluorine International's market cap slipped to Rs 18,273 crore. Total 0.21 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a turnover of Rs 7.61 crore. The stock was among the top losers on BSE.

Shares of PNB fell 4% to Rs 76.35 today despite the public sector lender logging a 11.3 percent year-on-year growth in total business at Rs 22.5 lakh crore for the quarter ended September FY24. Deposits climbed 9.7 percent YoY to Rs 13.08 lakh crore and global gross advances rising 13.8 percent YoY to Rs 9.4 lakh crore. Market cap of the lender fell to Rs 84,762 crore. 

PNB 

Shares of Suzlon Energy hit a fresh 52-week high of Rs 29.41 in early deals. The stock opened higher at Rs 28.65 today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 39,444 crore. Total 227.09 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to the highest turnover of Rs 66.23 crore on BSE. 

Suzlon Energy 

Zomato shares rose 4.41% to Rs 105.20 today. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 89,271 crore. Total 27.25 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 28.36 crore on BSE.

Shares of Titan Company climbed 1.75 per cent to Rs 3,222.20 in early deals. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 2.84 lakh crore. Total 0.77 lakh shares of the firm changed hands amounting to a high turnover of Rs 24.48 crore on BSE.
