Domestic equity benchmarks traded higher in early trade on Tuesday (October 6, 2023). The BSE Sensex rose over 350 points while the NSE barometer Nifty hit the above-19,650 level. On the stock-specific front, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Kalyan Jewellers, Jammu & Kashmir Bank, Paytm and some others are among the buzzing stocks today.
VK Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services said, "Expected Q2 FY24 results will influence stock prices in the coming days. Financials, particularly banking, automobiles, hotels, real estate, cement and capital goods will do well."
Shares of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank jumped 8.01% to hit their 52-week high level of Rs 61.38 in early trade. Market capitalisation (m-cap) of the firm rose to Rs 11,957.10 crore.
Bajaj Finserv's stock was the top Nifty gainer today, rising 3.54% to Rs 1,597.2 on NSE. Market cap of the firm surged to Rs 2,54,831.47 crore.
Shares of Kalyan Jewellers India gained 7.51% to hit a day high of Rs 251.90 today. Market cap of the jewellery maker climbed to Rs 25,771.93 crore. Around 2.22 lakh shares changed hands today. Turnover on the counter stood at Rs 5.45 crore.
Shares of Jammu & Kashmir Bank surged 7.45% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 115.35 today amid a rise in the broader market. Around 8.87 lakh shares changed hands today. This was higher than the two-week average volume of 5.79 lakh shares. Turnover on the counter came at Rs 9.97 crore, commanding a market cap of Rs 10,960.87 crore.
Shares of HBL Power Systems moved 5.11% higher to hit a day high of Rs 291.85 in early trade. Market cap climbed to Rs 8,055.29 crore. Turnover on the counter came at Rs 2.28 crore.
Shares of One 97 Communications, Paytm's parent, rose 4.22% in hit a day high of Rs 934 in early trade today. Market cap of the firm rose to Rs 58,729.96 crore.
Shares of PNB Housing Finance soared 4.77% to hit a day high of Rs 742 in early trade today against a previous close of Rs 708.20. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 19,105.06 crore.
Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel, Britannia, PowerGrid and L&T were among the top laggards on NSE. HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, Adani Enterprises and Tata Motors were the most active stocks, in terms of value.
