Benchmark indices on Friday touched their record high levels, led by gains in technology, state-owned lenders and energy stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,894.55-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were Infosys, ONGC, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and LTIMindtree while losers included Cipla, Apollo Hospitals, Bajaj Finserv, UltraTech Cement and PowerGrid.
Stocks such as TCS, Infosys, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. ONGC, Wipro and SBI were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Avanti Feeds Ltd emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock zoomed 11.32% on NSE today to settle at Rs 545.3. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 7,429.5 crore.
Firstsource Solutions Ltd shares also soared 10.42% to close at Rs 209.9. The company's m-cap came at Rs 14,629.8 crore.
Infibeam Avenues Ltd surged 9.71% to close at Rs 26.55. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 7,376.6 crore.
Shares of Metropolis Healthcare fell sharply today. The stock dived 6.34% to close at Rs 1,503.8 on Friday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 7,703 crore.
Alok Industries shares slipped 6.25% to end the session at Rs 34.5. The company's m-cap came at Rs 17,130.1 crore today.
