Benchmark indices on Monday scaled their all-time high levels, led by gains in metal, media and realty stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 22,462-level after hitting its lifetime high of 22,530 in intraday trade. The 30-share BSE pack settled 363 points or 0.49% higher at 74,015. During the day, the index touched a record high of 74,255. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Divi's Labs, Shriram Finance and Adani Ports while losers included Eicher Motors, Titan, Nestle India, LTIMindtree and Tata Consumer Products.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Infosys and Tata Motors were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. SBI and ITC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
In the NSE 500 index, shares of PNB Housing Finance Ltd emerged as the top gainer. The stock zoomed 18.96% on NSE today to settle at Rs 749.3. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 19,461.1 crore.
Action Construction Equipment Ltd shares soared 12.6% to close at Rs 1,606.4. The company's m-cap came at Rs 19,129.5 crore.
Welspun Living Ltd shares surged 12.35% to close at Rs 154.6. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 15,024.2 crore. KRBL, Hindustan Copper, NMDC Steel and Sterlite Technologies were some of the other gainers on NSE 500.
Shares of CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd fell sharply today. The stock dived 4.93% to close at Rs 514.25 on Monday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 78,543.1 crore.
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd shares slipped 3.08% to end the session at Rs 684.2. The company's m-cap came at Rs 40,124.8 crore today. Kaynes Technology India, Aegis Logistics, Signatureglobal (India) and AstraZeneca Pharma India were among some other laggards on NSE 500.
