Benchmark indices on Thursday continued their losing run for the third straight session. The domestic indices were dragged by banks, financials, metals, consumer and IT stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,462.25-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were LTIMindtree, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Titan and PowerGrid while gainers included Sun Pharma, Tech Mahindra, Cipla, Tata Motors and M&M.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, LTIMindtree, Reliance Industries and Axis Bank were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, NTPC, PowerGrid and ONGC were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of LTIMindtree emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 10.72% on NSE today to settle at Rs 5,603. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 1,65,940.4 crore.
Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) shares slumped 6.83% to close at Rs 137.2. The private lender's m-cap came at Rs 12,234 crore.
Alok Industries shares tanked 6.19% to close at Rs 31.05. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 15,417.1 crore.
Shares of Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS) rose sharply today. The stock surged 28.69% to close at Rs 6,545.5 on Thursday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 56,707.3 crore.
PCBL shares jumped 11.55% to end the session at Rs 311. The company's m-cap came at Rs 11,739.1 crore today.
