Benchmark indices ended lower for the third consecutive session on September 21 (Thursday) with NSE Nifty ending below 19,750 level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Mahindra & Mahindra, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Cipla and IndusInd Bank, while gainers included Adani Ports, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy's, Asian Paints and Bharti Airtel.

Market selloff intensifies: Top gainers & losers

Stocks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, Reliance Industries (RIL) and Infosys were most active on NSE, in terms of value. Tata Steel and PowerGrid were the other buzzing stock on the platform, in terms of volume.

Shares of power producer SJVN emerged as the top laggard in the NSE 500 index. The stock dived 13.46% on NSE today to hit an intraday low of Rs 70.75. The stock eventually settled 12.26% lower at Rs 71.20.

NHPC shares declined 6.76% to hit an intraday low of Rs 51.75 against their previous close of Rs 55.50. Around 5.08 crore shares of the company changed hands in a transaction worth Rs 271.24 crore. The number of shares exchanged amounts to 0.07% of the total equity. The scrip closed 5.68% lower at Rs 52.35.

Shares of KPIT Technologies slipped 5.61% to hit a low price of Rs 1,065.50 today. The company's market capitalisation (m-cap) came at Rs 29,772.02 crore. The scrip settled 3.79% down at Rs 1,086.

Shares of Tata Investment Corporation and UCO Bank also slipped up to 4.68% today. Tata Investment's m-cap stood at Rs 13,301.50 crore while Kalyan commanded a market valuation of Rs 49,975.91 crore.

Among the gainers, shares of KSB Ltd rose sharply today. The stock jumped 16.72% to hit an intraday high of Rs 3,210 against its previous close of Rs 2,750.10. It eventually settled with 13.45% gains at Rs 3,120.

Gujarat Ambuja Exports shares surged as much as 8.31% on Thursday to high of Rs 299.70. Around 26.89 lakh shares of the company changed hands in a transaction worth Rs 78.60 crore. The number of shares exchanged amounts to 0.09% of the total equity. The scrip closed 7.7% lower at Rs 298.

Shares of RattanIndia Enterprises, Brightcom Group, Cholamandalam Financial Holdings, Capri Global Capital and Orient Electric were also among top gainers in the NSE 500 pack today.
