Sensex, Nifty rose over 1% each

The Indian stock market has made considerable gains in a week. Sensex and Nifty zoomed over a percent during the last seven sessions. In the current session,  Sensex was trading at 72,659, up 36  points and Nifty gained 20 points to 22,075.

Midcap, small cap shares shine

The BSE midcap index zoomed 1.08% during the week. Similarly, the BSE midcap index rose 2.06% in the last seven sessions. Here’s  a look at top seven gainers on the BSE midcap index during last seven sessions.

Oil India

Shares of PSU Oil India Ltd were the top gainers in the midcap space in a week. The stock rose 17.3% during the period. In the current session, Oil India shares were trading 1.68% higher at Rs 595.15 on BSE. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 64,538 crore.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals

Shares of the pharma firm rose 13.1% in the last seven sessions. In the current session, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals shares were trading 0.42% higher at Rs 904.10 on BSE. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 25,510 crore.

CRISIL

Shares of the credit rating firm surged 12.4% in seven sessions. In the current session, CRISIL shares were trading 1.58% lower at Rs 4987 on BSE. Market cap of the firm stood at Rs 36,461 crore.

General Insurance Corporation of India

Shares of the PSU reinsurer firm gained 12.3% in seven sessions. In the current session, General Insurance Corp shares were trading 1.43% lower at Rs 420 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 73,684 crore.

The New India Assurance Company

Shares of the nationalized insurance firm gained 11.8% in the last seven days. In the current session, General Insurance Corp shares were trading 0.43% higher at Rs 281.65 on BSE. Market cap of the firm climbed to Rs 46,374 crore.

Polycab India

The stock of wires and cables maker rose 8.4% in seven days.  In the current session, Polycab India shares were trading 0.45% lower at Rs 4701 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 70,613 crore.

PI Industries

The stock of the agri-sciences firm gained 7.6% in the last seven sessions.  In the current session, PI Industries shares were trading 0.07% lower at Rs 3678.45 on BSE. Market cap of the firm fell to Rs 55,808 crore.
