Benchmark indices saw a sharp upward move on Monday, led by strong gains in energy and state-owned lender stocks. Headline index NSE Nifty closed at 21,737.60-level. Top gainers on the Nifty50 platform were ONGC, Reliance Industries, Coal India, Adani Enterprises and Adani Ports while losers included Cipla, ITC, Infosys, LTIMindtree and Bajaj Auto.
Stocks such as HDFC Bank, Reliance, ICICI Bank, ONGC and Adani Enterprises were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, Coal India and PowerGrid were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of Infibeam Avenues Ltd emerged as the top gainer in the NSE 500 index. The stock zoomed 19.93% on NSE today to settle at Rs 34.9. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 9,696.5 crore.
IRB Infrastructure Developers shares soared 18.24% to close at Rs 59.95. The company's m-cap came at Rs 36,203.8 crore.
NMDC Steel Ltd shares surged 14.48% to close at Rs 67.2. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 19,693.7 crore.
Shares of AU Small Finance Bank fell sharply today. The stock dived 11.51% to close at Rs 626.35 on Monday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 41,888.7 crore.
SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd shares slipped 5.83% to end the session at Rs 715.55. The company's m-cap came at Rs 68,032.9 crore today.
