In the case of ICICI Bank, domestic fund managers managed 1,65,83,26,093 shares, or 23.75% stake in the private lender worth Rs 1,45,477 crore in May. This stake accounted for 6.46% of the total equity assets that the mutual fund industry managed as on May 31, as per PRIME Database data
In the case of HDFC Bank, domestic fund managers managed 84,09,42,433 shares, or 15.07% stake in the private lender worth Rs 1,35,353.89 crore in May. This stake accounted for 6.01% of the total equity assets that the mutual fund industry managed as on May 31, 2023
Domestic fund managers managed 41,72,11,289 shares, or 6.17% stake in Reliance Industries worth Rs 97,254.04 crore in May. This stake accounted for 4.32% of the total equity assets that the mutual fund industry managed as on May 31, 2023
Domestic mutual fund managers managed 66,56,16,990 shares, or 16.04% stake in IT giant Infosys worth Rs 95,046 crore in May. This stake accounted for 4.22% of the total equity assets that the mutual fund industry managed as on May 31, 2023
Mutual fund managers managed 23,62,97,414 shares, or 12.90% stake in mortgage lender HDFC worth Rs 62,039.89 crore in May. This stake accounted for 2.75% of the total equity assets that the mutual fund industry managed as on May 31, 2023

From the midcap space, mutual funds offloaded IRFC, SAIL and Sona BLW Precision Forgings in May. Meanwhile, Easy Trip Planners, Nocil, Route Mobile and Mastek saw maximum selling by MFs from the smallcap space in May 2023
Adani Total Gas, Nykaa, Indus Towers and JSW Steel witnessed massive inflows from MFs in May. Fund managers added around 3 lakh shares of Adani Total Gas in May and 23.5 million shares of Nykaa. HDFC, HDFC Life, and Tata Group's Tata Elxsi also witnessed buying
From the midcap space, mutual funds bought shares of Vedant Fashions, Vodafone Idea, Laurus Labs and PolicyBazaar in May 2023. Jupiter Wagons, Astra Microwave and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders were the top smallcap buys. Fund managers also bought other smallcaps including HEG, Graphite, Amara Raja Batteries and Globus Spirits
