Benchmark indices on Monday continued to plunge for the second straight session amid escalation in the Iran-Israel conflict. The domestic indices were dragged by banks, financials, IT, consumer and pharma stocks. Headline index Nifty tanked 247 points or 1.1% to close at 22,273-level. Top losers on the Nifty50 platform were Shriram Finance, Wipro, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv while gainers included ONGC, Hindalco, Maruti Suzuki, Nestle India and Britannia.
Stocks such as ONGC, Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, TCS and Hindalco were most active on NSE today, in terms of value. Tata Steel, NTPC and PowerGrid were the other buzzing stocks on the platform, in terms of volume.
Shares of NBCC (India) Ltd emerged as the top loser in the NSE 500 index. The stock cracked 5.73% on NSE today to settle at Rs 125.95. At this price, the company commanded a market capitalisation (m-cap) of Rs 22,671 crore.
Hindustan Zinc Ltd shares slumped 5.72% to close at Rs 407.25. The company's m-cap came at Rs 1,72,076.1 crore.
KEC International Ltd shares tanked 5.71% to close at Rs 704.1. The company's m-cap stood at Rs 18,101.6 crore. Castrol India, Gujarat Pipavav Port, MMTC and SJVN were some of the other losers on NSE 500.
Shares of Capri Global Capital Ltd rose sharply today. The stock surged 11.95% to close at Rs 245.05 on Monday. At this price, the company's market cap stood at Rs 20,215.2 crore.
Aster DM Healthcare Ltd shares jumped 7.08% to end the session at Rs 522.75. The company's m-cap came at Rs 26,112.1 crore today. CSB Bank, ONGC, Anand Rathi Wealth and Thermax were among some other gainers on NSE.
