Stocks such as Zomato, HDFC Bank, IndiGo, Cipla and Jio Financial Services were among stocks that saw huge block deals this week, data available with Nuvama Research suggested
In the large-cap space, HDFC Bank witnessed the most (17) block deals for the week (ended October 20, 2023), worth Rs 460 crore. The deals were executed at an average price of Rs 1,529 and involved 30.10 lakh shares. HDFC Bank shares have fallen 0.8% this week
Zomato and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the second-highest in the list with 10 block deals, respectively. For Zomato, deals were valued at Rs 1,161 crore and Kotak Bank's blocks deals were worth Rs 416 crore. Zomato shares gained 2.1% this week and Kotak Bank rose 0.4%
Interglobe Aviation, IndiGo's parent, was among the top losers and the stock cracked 6.5% over the week. Overall, 4 block deals were executed, worth Rs 113 crore, according to the Nuvama report. Around 4.57 lakh shares changed hands at an average price of Rs 2,469, this report said
Cipla was among the biggest gainers this week as the stock surged 2.8%. 5 block deals were recorded, valued at Rs 92 crore. 7.74 lakh shares changed hands and the average price was Rs 1,190. IndusInd Bank also saw 5 deals this week valued at Rs 135 crore
During the week, Nuvama said 10 other stocks such as PowerGrid, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Reliance Industries, Dabur India, IndusInd Bank, Jio Financial Services, ICICI Bank, Avenue Supermarts (DMart) and Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co witnessed significant bulk deal action
Cholamandalam Investment and Fin Co saw 8 block deals. The deals were valued at Rs 203 crore. 16.53 lakh shares changed hands at an average price of Rs 1,228. The stock settled with weekly losses of 5.6%
Dabur India recorded 7 blocks deals this week, valued at Rs 137 crore. The stock fell 2.6% during the week
Jio Financial Services and Avenue Supermarts saw 6 deals, respectively, during the week ended on October 13
