"Cautious optimism prevailed in the market as investors resorted to selective buying in an uncertain market. Corporate earnings season is coming to an end and the market is awaiting fresh cues to take exposure," said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.
On the stock-specific front, Mamaearth, Reliance Industries, Oil India, National Aluminium, Crisil, Jio Financial and some other counters will be in focus today.
Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) rose 1.24% to close at Rs 2,378.50 in the previous trading session. RIL chief Mukesh Ambani has said that the company is planning to invest Rs 20,000 crore in West Bengal in the next three years.
Shares of newly-listed Honasa Consumer, Mamaearth's parent, slipped 1.13% to close at Rs 39.38. The company will today declare its first quarterly results after listing.
Crisil Ltd shares settled 0.57% higher at Rs 4,254.70. The stock will trade ex-dividend today. The company has announced an interim dividend of Rs 11.
Shares of Jio Financial Services settled with 2.16% gains at Rs 220.25. The firm, in an exchange filing, said, "This is to inform that as mandated by the Reserve Bank of India (while granting its approval for change in the shareholding pattern and control of the company pursuant to the demerger of the Financial Services Business, the company has submitted the application for conversion of the Company from NBFC to CIC (Core Investment Company)."
Shares of Ingersoll Rand (India) slipped 0.53% to close at Rs 2,945.30. The scrip will trade ex-dividend today as well. The company has declared an interim dividend of Rs 50.
Shares of Ipca Laboratories climbed 1.72% to settle at Rs 1,078.50. The counter will also trade ex-dividend today. And, the interim dividend amount is Rs 2.
Shares of National Aluminium Co rose 1.14% to close at Rs 93.65. The counter will turn ex-dividend too. National Aluminium has announced an interim dividend of Re 1.
Shares of Oil India Ltd fell 1.97% to close at Rs 307.80. The stock will turn ex-dividend today as well. Oil India has declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.50.
Shares of Pearl Global Industries edged 0.07% up to settle at Rs 1,310.95. The scrip will also trade ex-dividend today. The company announced an interim dividend of Rs 12.50.
Shares of TD Power Systems rose 0.65% to close at Rs 278.50. The stock will go ex-dividend today as well. The interim dividend amount is 50 paise.
